This beats our previous record of 560 trees. A great effort by all! Special thanks to those scouts and adults who helped both weekends and for adults who volunteered by pulling trailers and making phone calls.

As many of you have heard, Medfield is at a very high risk for Eastern Equine Encephalitis or "Triple E". The disease is a rare but highly deadly mosquito-borne virus that causes inflammation of the brain, resulting in severe brain damage or, in 30% of cases, death. There is no cure for Triple E. In light of these recent developments, the Troop 89 leadership has decided to cancel all outdoor activities that take place during dawn or dusk, and Troop 89 urges all scouts and scouting adults to take precautions against mosquito bites for future outdoor activities. After the first hard frost has set in, signaling the end of mosquito season, the full activity schedule will be restored. for more information about Triple E, visit The CDC page on Triple ERead more
