Welcome to Troop 89!

Troop 89 is very pleased that you decided to continue your Scouting career and that you chose to cross over to Boy Scout Troop 89. We are a very active Troop and are looking forward to your participation.

Your first opportunity to join us on an outdoor trip will be on our annual Greenhorn Trip. It is primarily dedicated to training our new Scouts on the basics of Troop 89 outdoor camping. If you would like to attend this trip, you will be able to sign up for it at our Troop Meeting on March 23^rd. (See the sheet provided in the March newsletter for details and contact information)

The Troop charges $50 annual Troop dues for new Scouts and $40 for new Scouts with brothers already in the Troop. The dues include a Troop T-Shirt and a Troop hat for all new Scouts.

Troop 89 New Parent Orientation Night, Thursday, 23 March 2006 from 7:00 – 8:30 PM at the Wheelock School (during the Troop Meeting)

One or both of each new scout's parents are required to attend the Troop 89 new parents orientation night. Parents will meet with troop adult leaders while the Scouts attend the Troop Meeting. Topics such as registration, required equipment, Scout uniform, Scout advancement, Troop program, Scout and adult leadership, and other related matters will be discussed. Parents will also have an opportunity to ask questions regarding Boy Scouts Of America and Troop 89.

Please complete all forms prior to the meeting and bring them (if not already turned in) to this meeting along with a check (made out to BSA Troop 89) for the annual Troop dues. NOTE – These forms must be turned in before the Scouts can participate in any Troop activities!
