WILL’S HARDWARE MOVE (December
28)
Coordinator: Mr. Mike McGowan, 359-XXXX.
Will’s Hardware has supported our troop for many years with donations, please help support them during their move from downtown to West Street. They need manpower that day to get their move done as quickly as possible. See Mr. McGowan to sign up for either the morning or afternoon shift.
CHRISTMAS TREE COLLECTION (January 3 and 10)
Coordinator: Mr. Charlie Malacaria, Christmas
Tree Collection Coordinator, 359-XXXX.
This is our one BIG fundraiser that supports the troop for the whole year! We still need drivers with Class 3 hitches and/or trucks to help on either day. Every parent who has a truck or hitch helps the Troop make a bigger profit, instead of our paying U-Haul. Please call Mr. Charlie Malacaria, 359-XXXX, ASAP if you can have a vehicle we may use. If you want to help during the collections, but don’t have a truck/hitch, that is also welcome. We also need a few parents to call previous customers who have not returned their reservation slip.– this is the easiest sales job you’ll ever have! Again, please call Mr. Malacaria to volunteer. Thanks!

GENERAL NOTES for PARENTS
§ We are looking for a new Committee Chairperson. Mr. Mike Short would like to let some other parent have the opportunity to serve the troop as his son nears his 18th birthday. The Committee Chairperson’s job is more administrative in nature – they mainly are responsible for running the monthly adult Committee meetings. Occasionally additional duties are required when a representative from our Troop is needed to attend a Council event or sign papers. Call Mr. Mike Short, 359-XXXXor Mr. Rick Schaub, 359-XXXXfor more details.
§
Merit Badge Counselors: In accordance with new BSA guidelines, each
merit badge counselor must fill out 2 forms.
The first is the adult application form for the position of merit badge
counselor. The second is the merit
badge counselor information sheet that tells what badges for which you would
like to be a counselor. This form also tells a little bit about your
qualifications in those areas. This information is sent to the District
Advancement Chairman for approval. Even if you are already a merit badge
counselor, we will need to resubmit the merit badge counselor info sheet along
with a new adult application sheet. Please see Patti Schwartz, Advancement
Chair, 359-XXXX, for copies of these forms.
