INFORMATION AND EQUIPMENT LIST
In
years past, Troop 89 frequently camped at Purgatory Chasm, an unusual series of
caves, cliff, hills, outcrops and “chasms” in south central Massachusetts. This
has always been a favorite campsite for the troop and we are privileged to be
able to camp in the park at a unique site, not open to the general public for
camping. We plan to drive out Friday evening and return Sunday at noon. Here
are the details:
Departure: we will leave at 5:30PM
Friday from the scout shed. All grub masters and the troop quartermaster
should assemble at 5:00 to load the trailer. We will need drivers, able to leave at 5:30, so when you sign up,
please advise us that your parent can drive and how many scouts you can take in
your car.
Return: we will take be ready to
leave the shed at 1200 Sunday.

Weather and Preparation:
The weather is a huge variable this time of year. It could be quite cold, with temperatures in the 20s at night and the prospect for cold rain or even snow. Be prepared with plenty of warm clothes and extra dry clothes since you may get wet while caving or hiking. On the reverse side is a checklist to consider.
Please see Mr. Shea to register, or contact me with any questions.
